About Phaedra Lund Shudra

I started in healthcare in 1986 as an ophthalmic technician. Over the years I did just about every job there is inside an eye practice, and in 2007 I opened and ran practices in Tampa. Along the way I spent 15 years on the carrier contracting side, learning how insurance companies actually work from the inside.
That combination is why I do what I do. I've sat on both sides of the table: the practice trying to get paid fairly, and the carrier deciding what to offer. Today I put that experience to work for physician-owned practices in every specialty, all over the country.
My story, the short version
I have a two-year degree in vision care technology, and everything else I learned by paying attention and keeping up with technology. When the BlackBerry came out in 2007, I realized I could work remotely, and that's when Eye Advise began.
Today my husband and I live full-time on the road in an RV, and I work with practices all over the country. You can design your own life. You still have to do the work.
How I work
- You get monthly updates, not silence.
- Every contract term gets reviewed with the carrier before you sign.
- You get a straight answer about what's going on in the industry, even when it's not what you hoped to hear.
- I'm frank and I'm warm. If we're not the right fit, the consultation will still point you in the right direction.
People I trust
No one does everything well. When my clients need something outside my lane, these are the people I send them to.
